ABOUT MATT:

Matt Molloy is a 36 year old Santa Barbara native with almost 25 years of solid musical experience. His main instrument is the guitar, but he also has experience playing and teaching the bass and drums. He teaches all three of these instruments to students who range in age from 4 to 50. He has also worked with numerous bands, helping them with songwriting, stage presence, promotion, booking, recording, producing and more.

Matt lived in LA for 5 years where he attended LA Music Academy and received a degree in Guitar Performance and Composition. He also lived in San Diego for 5 years where he attended UC San Diego and received a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in History. He is a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers) and has played guitar, bass and percussion and done songwriting for a variety of projects, including nationally­ run TV commercials, nationally­ released film trailers and independent film scoring.

He also loves to perform and has done so with many different bands. He has toured the country multiple times and has played for crowds as small as 15 to as large as 15,000. Most recently, his last band Strikes At One performed at the Rocklahoma music festival, an event which drew 65,000 people and featured Guns ‘n Roses, Alice in Chains, and many others. Matt is currently putting together a new band, People as Machines, where he is the lead singer and guitar player. This band plays a mix of blues, rock and funk, as well as other styles.

In addition, Matt has taken recording classes and built his own recording studio, where he has recorded and produced other bands and solo artists. He has also worked as an outside producer, helping bands with their recordings at Playback Recording Studio and Santa Barbara Sound Design.
